Using the Help System

Photoshop Elements includes a comprehensive help system containing the complete text of the Photoshop Elements User Guide, keyboard shortcuts, and links to the same tasks available in the How To palette. Although the help system uses a Web browser for viewing, you don't need a live Internet connection to use the help system. All of the help files are automatically installed on your hard drive during the Photoshop Elements installation process.

Photoshop Elements also includes a search field located on the shortcuts bar. If you have a question, type it into the text field, and Photoshop Elements will search through both the Help contents and How To tasks to find all of the appropriate links in the help system. There's even a glossary that includes an extensive list of terms you're likely to run across while working on your images.

To use the help system

1.

From the Help menu, choose Photoshop Elements Help (Figure 1.49), or press F1.
