In this chapter, you've seen how the addition of the XML For SQL Server 2000 Web Release can provide some useful XML-related functionality. In particular, you can use updategrams to insert, update, or delete data in the same way that you can use templates to retrieve data. You've also seen how the XML bulk load component can be used to import large volumes of XML data into a SQL Server database.

In the next chapter, I'll discuss a sample e-commerce application that uses the SQL Server XML support throughout. I'll also introduce another key Microsoft product that can help you integrate applications and trading partners: BizTalk Server 2000.
