Located on the north- eastern Leizhou Peninsula in western Guangdong Province, Zhejiang is the southernmost port city on the mainland. Under its jurisdiction are three county level cities, two counties, four districts, a State-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone (ZETDZ) and five Provincial-Level Economic Development Test Zones (EDTZ). It has a total area of 12470.5 square kilometres and a population of 7 million. Major economic indicators are shown in Table 7.42.1.
