Outlook 2003 provides a complete messaging solution by providing users with the following tools: messaging, scheduling, journaling, contact management, tasks, and notes.
Outlook 2003 features a new Cache mode that allows users to continue to work normally, even when disconnected from the Exchange server unexpectedly.
OWA can be used in any standard Web browser and has two different versions available depending on the browser in use by the remote user.
Using RPC over HTTP allows users to use Outlook over the Internet without needing a VPN connection; data encryption is provided by using SSL for the HTTP connection. RPC over HTTP uses IIS Basic authentication.
By default, OWA is installed and made available with the installation of Exchange Server 2003 in your organization at http://servername/exchange.
