Saving Your New Image

Saving your Web page will automatically save any images (or other files) found on the page. It will allow you to choose what you want to do with these files in the Save Embedded Files dialog box that will appear after you save the page (see Figure 6.13).

Figure 6.13. The Save Embedded Files dialog box lets you set the name, folder, and picture type for every image you save on your Web page.

You can select any image in the list and rename the file or change the folder that the file will be saved to. You can also set whether FrontPage saves the file or reverts to the source HTML through the Set Action button. You can also change the file type of every image saved through this powerful dialog box.

TIP

Making good use of the Embedded Files dialog box can save you a lot of heartache in the future. From the very beginning, consider saving all your image files to an image directory and giving them names that will clearly define what they are. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to sort through a huge Web site of graphic images with the naming convention given to them when they were pulled from the Microsoft Office Online Clip Art library.
